Gandy Goose XV will be April 9th & 10th, 2011 in Bend Oregon.

Exciting changes this year:

The Gandy Goose is an annual coed Ultimate Frisbie Tournament. Held during the second weekend of April in beautiful Bend Oregon, this two day affair features some superb high-flying Ultimate action, 16 competitive teams, dinner, a party, and some of the best field food around.

This year the Gandy Goose is joining forces with the Disc-O-Rama Disc Golf tournament to present the Central Oregon Frisbie Festival – a two day combined disc extravaganza of Golf and Ultimate. Check out http://discventures.com/ if you, or someone you know, might be interested in the Disc Golf side of things. Same location, same party, different game!

Such a grand festival needs some grand fields. This year we are proud to present the new Pine Nursery Park (3750 NE Purcell Blvd, Bend OR). Get ready for amenities such as real bathrooms, a parking lot, well-maintained grass sports fields, and enough surrounding area for a 27-hole Disc Golf course.

To satisfy the new mandatory requirement of insurance coverage, Bend Ultimate has decided to have Gandy Goose XV sanctioned by USA Ultimate. Each player must sign a waiver and either be a USA Ultimate member or obtain a one-time event pass – I'll send out the details when our sanctioning application gets processed by USA Ultimate. The process does involves a bit more paperwork and cost for the players, but we've compensated with a lower bid price. Overall we're better off having everyone covered, but we will have to segregate the alcohol – keeping it at the party and off the fields.

Speaking of having fun; whether you prefer parades, masquerades, dressing up, or just the overturning or daily life, this year's theme of "Carnival" offers your team many options to fire up its spirit on the field and put away the spirits at the party. This year's venue for dinner, DJ, and the party will be The Old Stone Church in downtown Bend.

For those interested in bringing a team to Gandy Goose XV, please send in your bids soon as we'll start processing them in March. If you are not a captain this year, but know who is, please pass on this information. Hope to see you in April!

    • Team Name

  2. Mail $250 bid check to: "Bend Ultimate", PO Box 2118, Bend OR 97709
  3. Ensure your players have current waivers & memberships at http://usaultimate.org/
  4. The first 16 teams with everything in order will get in!
