Bend Ultimate City League (BUCL) is a fun and competitive recreational mixed gender Ultimate (sport) league. The goal is to provide an enjoyable atmosphere for players of all abilities and experience, but we do keep score, and crown a champion. Ultimate is all about the spirit of the game!

The dues are $40 for ten games of Ultimate, but you might be eligable for a discount – contact me if you are a current USA Ultimate member or are under 18. USA Ultimate sanctioning requires completion of their waiver and event registration form before playing.
Each team recruits a sponsor to help out the league. We appreciate all their help in making this great league possible. The cost is $150 and sponsors get the their logo on the the jerseys and links from this web site, plus many adoring Bend Ultimate fans!
We play Wednesday nights, 6:00pm at Big Sky Sports Complex. Training clinics start June 15, league games start July 6, and the finals tournament will be Satruday August 20. Throughout the season you'll play every other team once on Wednesday nights, then a three game Saturday tournament to crown the champion. Depending on interest we may hold some pick-up games on Wednesday after the league games.
All are invited! We have new player clinics & pick-up 6:00pm Wednesdays at Big Sky, staring June 15 and running until the league games start. Learn about how to throw, offense and defense positioning, how and when to jump for the disc, body control and dangerous plays, zone offenses & defenses, stack offense discussion, horizontal offense discussion, defensive forcing and creating space for your teamates.
For the league we will have eight teams and play one game per night with games officially starting at 6:10 pm. We will use the Official Rules of Ultimate 11th Edition with games to 15, 3 women 4 men gender split, and no soft cap. We also have some special rules (during the first two weeks) to help new players learn the game:
Each team will play every other team once during the Wednesday night (regular season) games. Results from these games will determine the seedings for the finals tournament on Saturday August 20. Have you got the spirit to put your name on the trophy?
Bring cleats, water and your team jersey. Every player gets a team jersey, but until they're printed grab both a white & a dark shirt. Your captain will decide at the field which one you'll wear.
No beer during the events. We are looking for establishment to offer us a discount after the games, if you know a good place then let me know!
If you bring a dog make sure you have a leash that can be secured to something and some bags for any messes. Be courteous to other and abide by the Parks and Rec rule, or we could lose the fields!
Minors allowed, but chaperones and related USA Ulimate paperwork are required. Captains may recruit the core of a team before the draft (with restrictions). The restrictions are 14 players maximum, but only 5 may be experienced "traveling" Ultimate players. The Bend Ultimate Board will review pre-draft teams, and may adjust the numbers depending on captains' sentiments and the size of the draft pool.
There will be a draft. Everyone gets on a team!
We'll play at Big Sky for the whole season. Fields 4 & 5 are located towards the back right of the complex, near the dog park entrance. We're trying to get our Ultimate fields painted as well (hopefully!).
